Joe Louis: The Brown Bomber

The world has produced many great world champions and even great fighters that never won a world title. There were some fighters that stood out more than others in the world scene, one of these great fighters was a man named Joseph Louis Barrow at birth, and later became known as Joe Louis "The Brown Bomber". He was born at Lafayette, Alabama, in 1947. Joe was the brought up in a family of seven to a sharecropper in a shanty town. In due course his family moved to Detroit where he would received a violin for which his mother thought he would go and get lessons which he did, however, not for the violin. Young Joe was using the money his mother gave him to get boxing lessons instead. This young boy who was getting inspiration from a boxing gym was later to be one of the greatest and if not the greatest fighter that ever lived.

Undoubtedly, Joe Louis as he was called was dubbed by many as a "superb ring mechanic". His style was hardly ever seen in the heavyweight division, his record surpassed expectations, his knockout power sent shivers down the spine of many viewers as well as his opponents. The Brown Bomber was pure skill and science, many modern fighters have modeled themselves on him. Possibly the greatest heavyweight champion of all time.
